One adult and three youngsters sat down on the earthen slope.

Zhang Bairen smiled and asked, "I don’t yet know your names. Could you tell me?"

The older boy raised his head and said, "I’m Yang Jiao!"

The younger boy said, "I’m Yang Jian, and my sister is Yang Chan."

Zhang Bairen chuckled, "Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, Yang Chan, what good names; all very good names indeed."

Yang Jiao, full of curiosity, asked, "Uncle, can you tell us about the outside world? We have never been out there."

Yang Jian also looked at Zhang Bairen expectantly.

Yang Chan sat on the ground, fidgeting uncomfortably.

Zhang Bairen reached out and took Yang Chan into his arms, chuckling, "Alright, then let me tell you a story."

Yang Chan, nestled in Zhang Bairen’s embrace, couldn’t help but giggle twice, feeling the warmth.
