Chapter 62, All Immortals of the Chan Sect
Gu Liang looked up, tousling her hair and swinging her head from side to side in admiration as she asked, "Senior Brother, how did you know they would take action?"
"Even our Great Sect’s identity tokens dare they tamper with, and they think to deceive Master? What isn’t there they wouldn’t dare do? I wouldn’t be at all surprised by anything even more outrageous."
Gu Liang’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she said, "Senior Brother, you’re so impressive!"
Bai Jin said proudly, "Just average, rank three in the Jie Sect."
Shi Ji said anxiously, "Senior Brother, shouldn’t we stop them? What if we anger Master, then what?"
Bai Jin smiled without a word, muttering to himself, "The whole point is to let them anger Master. If they come to pay respect and ask for discipleship tomorrow, and Master, out of kindness, keeps them, then won’t all my schemes have been for naught? We must never underestimate Master’s compassionate heart for taking disciples."
The commotion soon came to an end. Out of more than six hundred disciples, some perished, some were severely beaten and expelled from the sect, and also, among the remaining multitude of Outer Door Disciples, an imposing and ruthless image of Bai Jin was planted in their hearts.
At high noon, Bai Jin sat in his palace, contemplating on grand plans for his fellow sect members.
An auspicious cloud floated over from Yuqing Peak, with a finely-dressed Daoist Disciple standing atop it.
The Daoist Disciple descended the cloud and knocked on the doors of Bai Jin’s palace, calling out, "Senior Brother, are you there?"
