"Ha, scared? Since when did Ye Qing become so timid? This doesn’t seem like the Ye Qing I know." Han Yi chuckled lightly, gazing at Ye Qing with deeper meaning.
Ye Qing shivered, instantly understanding what Han Yi meant. He was referring to the time he saved her back then. That time was much scarier than now.
Ye Qing didn’t expect Han Yi to still remember that night, a humiliation she could never shake off for her entire life.

If Li Liang was her disaster, Han Yi was even more so. The man she fell for at first sight was met under such circumstances.
She could never forget, she hated, she hated Li Liang, hated Lin Wan, and hated Han Yi even more for meeting her then. Hated that he discovered her.
"I didn’t, I didn’t bump your car. It was my brakes that failed. I accidentally hit you. It was you. You didn’t find out clearly and directly knocked me into the flower bed."
"Your mouth that distorts right and wrong is truly sharp. Brake failure isn’t steering failure. Do you take me for him? So easy to fool?" Han Yi said, pointing at Mei Langchi.
Mei Langchi was upset by Han Yi’s demeaning remark, his previously composed face now darkened. He glared angrily at Han Yi, stepped forward, and pointed at him, "Say that again."
"Fool, say it a hundred times and it’s still you." Han Yi looked at him with sharp black eyes.
The two seemed ready to explode at any moment, tensions high between them.
Mei Shuqing quickly admonished, "Speak properly, Xiao Wan is still inside. What are you doing right now?"
"Nothing matters more than Xiao Wan and the child right now. Xiao Yi, let’s put everything else aside for now. Dad will let the police figure it out," Mei Shuping stood between his two sons, trying to mediate.
However, Han Yi ignored him completely, stepped forward with a fierce gaze at Mei Langchi, warning, "Mei Langchi, if I find out you were behind tonight’s incident, I won’t let you go."
"I’ll accompany you to the end. See what you can do to me," Mei Langchi replied mockingly.
Mei Shuping remained silent with difficulty, while Mei Shuqing coldly said, "Xiao Chi, settle down."
"Second Uncle should be pointing at Han Yi. He just wouldn’t let it go, claiming the car accident was my doing. I’m not a deity, I can’t just whip up an accident any time, anywhere. "Mom and Dad, we told you not to come. Why are you here?" Mei Shuping quickly supported them, speaking.
"This is such a big deal; how could we just stay at home? What’s the situation now?" Mr. Mei asked, roughly scanning the group present.
Except for Junzi, everyone else was here, and though some had minor injuries, they were okay. The Mei family was most worried about Lin Wan.
As everyone watched the surgery room door anxiously, it opened.
The first to rush over was Han Yi, who, in that moment, threw all manners aside, urgently grabbing the doctor’s collar, "Doctor, how’s my wife? How is she?"
"Please don’t get agitated, Comrade. Let go and listen to me first," said the doctor, an older female doctor who fully understood his current feelings. After all, with his wife so heavily pregnant and such a severe accident, if anything went wrong, it could be both lives at stake.
"Xiao Yi, calm down, let the doctor speak," Mei Shuqing quickly urged Han Yi to release his grip.
"Sorry, I was too worried. Doctor, how is my wife?" He realized that, someone usually so calm in crises, he had lost control today. Seeing Xiao Wan covered in blood made him nervous beyond control.
"The surgery was very successful. Fortunately, both mother and child are fine. Young man, your wife is blessed. Despite losing so much blood, she amazingly stopped bleeding on her own. Plus, she was brought on time, the child is barely safe. However, this collision left the fetus very unstable, so she’ll likely need to stay in the hospital until delivery. The patient sustained a head injury and is still unconscious. Therefore, once in the ward, you family members will have ten minutes of visiting time. The patient needs to remain in the intensive care unit for the next two days," the female doctor explained.
