Chapter 117 - 116: Meeting the Parents
Han Yi got up quietly from the bed and took a blanket to cover Lin Wan.
Suddenly getting married and being alone with a woman was indeed a bit unsettling. But at that moment, looking at Lin Wan’s sleepy, fair little face, a full sense of belonging welled up in his heart. It made him feel much more at ease.
Lin Wan slept until after three in the afternoon. When she woke up, Han Yi had just come in from washing his face outside. "Awake?"
"Mm." Lin Wan was still somewhat dazed, for a moment forgetting where she was. It wasn’t until she regained her senses that she remembered she was already married, currently in Han Yi’s room. She had planned to lie down for a moment, but unexpectedly fell asleep unknowingly in front of Han Yi.
Feeling a bit annoyed, she wondered if she looked okay while sleeping and whether Han Yi found her displeasing.
Little did Lin Wan know, her tousled hair and drowsy eyes were incredibly alluring, making Han Yi feel slightly uneasy. He quickly looked away, clearing his throat to conceal the slight warmth on his face. "Wash your face, and let’s go to your place."
"Okay."
She had agreed with Mom yesterday to come back early in the evening.
After Han Yi and Lin Wan freshened up and bid farewell to Grandma, they went to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy two cans of preserved fruit, two pastries, and a cake. Han Yi initially wanted to buy cigarettes but then thought that his brother-in-law seemed to still be in school and probably didn’t smoke.
When they reached West Bridge, Lin Wan bought some vegetables and fish. By the time they got home, Mom and her brother hadn’t come back yet.
"You sit first, I’ll go cook. My mom and brother should be back soon." Lin Wan placed the items on the table and poured a glass of cool boiled water for Han Yi.
"I’ll join you." Han Yi took off his wide-brimmed hat and raised his hand to wipe the sweat off his forehead. Before he could touch it, a faint fragrance reached his nose, and before he realized it, Lin Wan was already wiping the sweat for him with a handkerchief.
