Chapter 1377: Is That So, He Went Out?
There are some truths she understands, but when it comes to following them, she still finds herself unable to do so.
When she gives her all to him, she hopes for the same kind of reciprocation.
If this is a form of greed, then this bad habit of hers is probably something she’ll never be able to change.
--
Matthew Saxon hadn’t left for long when Olly knocked on her door again.
She turned a food box and took out several plates of light dishes and a bowl of white rice porridge.
After arranging the food from the box, Olly still didn’t want to leave.
Standing by the bed, her lips opened and closed several times, yet no words came out, her expression was one of hesitation.
She had something to say.
When Scarlett Yates picked up the bowl, she glanced at her, pretending to ask casually, "Olly, is there something you want to say?"
"Young Madam..." Olly called out softly after hesitating for a moment, biting her lower lip, she said, "Have you and Young Master had a disagreement again? I just saw Young Master leave in a huff."
Scarlett paused her hand holding the spoon, stayed silent for a moment, and then said faintly, "Really, he went out?"
"Yes, Young Master also said he wouldn’t be back tonight."
Being newlyweds, and the husband not returning at night is a terrible sign.
After listening, Scarlett’s expression remained calm, "Oh, I see."
"Young Madam, aren’t you worried?"
Olly looked more anxious than the emperor’s eunuch, her brows knitted tightly while biting her lips harder, her face full of worry, "Young Master must have gone to find his Fox and Hound Allies again; those people are bad influences, they’ve led Young Master astray."
"Once, Young Master was such a great person, but after meeting them, he was out carousing every day. Since being with Young Madam, he rarely hung out with them, but now..."
As she talked, she stomped her foot in frustration, "In short, Young Madam, aren’t you afraid Young Master will be led astray again?"
She really was more anxious than an eunuch would be, almost out of saliva from talking, yet the person involved showed no reaction at all, as if she didn’t care.
How could this be?
Didn’t Young Madam really like Young Master?
Scarlett didn’t even raise her head, stirring the spoon in her bowl, the porridge was already thick and sticky, yet after stirring it for a while, she didn’t eat it. After a few seconds of silence, she replied, "What’s there to worry about? I can’t control him, his legs are on his own body, he can go wherever he wants, if I tell him not to go, do you think he won’t go?"
Without waiting for Olly to speak, she lifted her chin, looking at her with a smile, "Do you think your Young Master is such an obedient person?"
Olly was taken aback, fell silent for a while, seemingly pondering Scarlett’s words, then nodded, "Young Madam, Young Master would still listen to you."
Her Young Master isn’t called obedient; he’s considered caring.
"I’m not that capable."
The porridge was very fragrant, the small dishes looked delicious, but Scarlett had no appetite.
"Young Madam..." Olly seemed like she wanted to persuade her further.
Once a man stayed out overnight, it would happen again; after a second time, it gradually became the norm.
A man who habitually doesn’t come home, it’s the easiest for another woman to take advantage of the situation.
