Will the Aloof Billionaire Divorce Today?

Chapter 1370: You Still Know What Cold Is

The sheets were white, the quilt was also white, which made her long, shiny black hair stand out. Matthew Saxon instantly noticed her lying on the bed.

Her small face was as white as the sheets and quilt.

The room had the heating on, and the down quilt she was wrapped in was quite warm, yet her complexion still wasn’t good, pale as if she were frozen.

A few hours ago, Olly had worried that she might get sick, and hours later, Scarlett Yates was indeed ill.

Matthew Saxon walked to the bedside, sat down on the bed, and gently called her, "Scarlett Yates."

She seemed to be sleeping very soundly and deeply; a person had entered her room, sat beside her bed, and called her, yet she had no reaction at all.

The bedroom was exceptionally quiet.

Thus, Matthew Saxon could hear her breath clearly becoming rapid and heavy, as if her nose was blocked, making breathing difficult.

Under these circumstances, Matthew Saxon couldn’t possibly think she was merely asleep.

She was ill...

And quite seriously ill, to the point she fell into stupor.

Matthew Saxon’s face immediately darkened. He reached for her forehead to touch it, and his expression grew even uglier.

The skin under his palm was scorching hot.

Damn it! She was running a fever, and a bad one. Her whole forehead felt like it was on fire.

"Are you satisfied now, running yourself down to this state? Do you think you’re happy?" Knowing she couldn’t hear, he angrily reprimanded her.

This illness was self-inflicted.

On such a cold day, she went to loosen the soil and fertilize that damn Purple Vine Tree dressed so lightly; wasn’t it deliberate self-exhaustion leading to illness?

Now, she’s finally got what she wanted.

Not only is she caught with a cold, but she’s burning up with a fever. Does her heart feel content now?

Matthew Saxon didn’t know if Scarlett Yates felt content, but he certainly felt very uncomfortable, extremely uncomfortable.

He had a strong urge to pull Scarlett Yates up and spank her.

This damn woman is too much trouble; fine if she torments herself, but she drags him into plenty of hassle.

"Cold..." Scarlett curled into a ball moved slightly, her lips quivering, unconsciously uttering in a trembling voice, "So cold..."

"You still know it’s cold." Matthew Saxon glared at her angrily, his voice harsh, "Don’t you just love staying in cold places? I told you to come back but you wouldn’t listen, since you love it, why complain about the cold now."

"Cold..." Scarlett couldn’t hear what he said, she only felt tremendously cold, she tightened the quilt around her more, curled like a newborn, yet still trembled with cold, "Really so cold..."

In her coma, Scarlett dreamt she was standing amidst ice and snow.

She wore only a thin slip dress, yet the place she stood was piled high with ice and snow.

Huge snowflakes drifted in the air, everywhere was a white expanse, nothing but snow.

She wanted to find a slightly warmer place to hide, but surrounded by ice mountains, there was nowhere to hide.

Crouching, she hugged her body, the cold wind biting, chilling her to endless shivers.

It was really so cold, so cold, she seriously doubted she might freeze to death here.

If she indeed froze to death in this icy land, nobody would find her, right?

After all, she wasn’t anyone important, just one among millions of ordinary people, if she died, so be it, no one would mourn or shed tears for her.
