Chapter 1353: I Know What to Do
As soon as the plane landed, Scarlett Yates turned on her phone, and several text message tones rang out.
The beeping continued for half a minute before Matthew Saxon turned his head to glance at her. His gaze lingered on her face for a few seconds, then fell on her still-flashing phone.
Was it Maxwell Saxon who sent her so many messages?
By now, the Yates Family must have discovered she was missing.
Thinking of Maxwell Saxon made him feel a bit uneasy again.
He couldn’t help but start paying attention to Scarlett Yates’ every move.
He saw her pick up the phone, tap the screen a few times, probably opening those texts. She lowered her head, looking at them intently. After a while, her brows furrowed, and her expression turned somewhat subtle.
After she went through the texts and put her phone back in her bag, Matthew Saxon resisted as much as he could but still couldn’t hold back and asked, "Did Maxwell Saxon contact you?"
Scarlett Yates looked up at him but didn’t respond immediately.
Matthew Saxon also didn’t speak. After asking, he just kept his gaze fixed on her, as if waiting for her answer.
The two of them silently stared at each other for a moment.
"Yes." After a long pause, Scarlett Yates replied coldly with a single word.
This attitude... clearly more distant from him, and more indifferent. Matthew Saxon immediately felt it.
Since he said he would divorce her for Little Tail, there had been no communication between them.
The following hours were spent sleeping.
But Matthew Saxon didn’t actually sleep. He kept his eyes closed but remained fully awake, with too many thoughts flooding his mind, not knowing where to even begin organizing them.
Pretending to sleep for a few hours, he realized that what occupied his thoughts the most was her.
"What did he say?" he couldn’t help but ask again.
Scarlett Yates paused, looked up at him, and without saying a word, just stared coldly at him. After a moment, she replied indifferently, "Nothing much."
That line was as good as saying nothing at all.
Her meaning was clear; she was unwilling to tell him.
Matthew Saxon suddenly felt a bit resentful. With his temperament, being treated so coldly, he wouldn’t continue to pester for answers.
Yet he still couldn’t help it.
How could it be nothing?
A living person suddenly disappeared, and even if Maxwell Saxon hadn’t noticed, Noah Yates must have already realized it.
"By vanishing like that, someone will soon inform Noah Yates of the situation. Now that we’ve arrived in Z City, there’s nothing more to worry about. If someone calls again from over there, you can transfer the call to me."
The plane taxied for a while and slowly came to a stop.
Matthew Saxon unbuckled his seatbelt while speaking to her.
"I know what to do." Scarlett Yates unbuckled her seatbelt a moment before him, stood up, and looked down at him. From this angle, Matthew Saxon could see the coldness in her eyes even more clearly.
"Mr. Saxon, Miss Yates, we have arrived in Z City. The plane has safely landed; you may disembark now." The flight attendant approached with a trademark sweet smile and gently reminded them.
Since there was no luggage, Scarlett Yates stood up and directly got off the plane.
Matthew Saxon’s face was a bit sullen, silently following behind her.
At the cabin door, the flight attendant, who had previously flirted with Matthew Saxon, stood there, her eyes directly bypassing Scarlett Yates with a hint of resentment and longing as she looked at Matthew Saxon trailing behind Scarlett.
