Chapter 1337: Mr. Saxon Overestimates Me

"In this matter, the Yates Family was indeed in the wrong in some respects, but since Mr. Saxon has been able to return safe and sound, we hope he can let the big issue shrink into a small one, and the small one vanish altogether. It’s best for everyone to continue getting along peacefully—that would be the ideal solution."

Scarlett understood what he meant. What Old Master Yates was saying was that Matthew Saxon had only been under soft detention for a few days, and hadn’t really suffered any other loss. Besides, Noah Yates had, in a way, saved his life, so any grudges between them should be considered offset.

Once they returned to Z City, everyone would act as if nothing had ever happened.

Truthfully, that was what Scarlett wanted as well.

After going back to Z City, she hoped everything could return to normal as soon as possible. As for the Yates Family, if she could help it, she hoped never to have anything to do with them again for the rest of her life.

She was Noah Yates’s daughter, half of the blood in her veins was Yates blood, yet to the Yates Family, she was still an outsider.

The Yates Family couldn’t accept her, and she couldn’t fit herself into the Yates Family. A family like that, she might as well not have.

"Please rest assured, Old Master Yates. Once we’re back, we’ll forget everything and act as if nothing ever happened." Scarlett gave her own promise.

Butler Wood nodded. He had said everything that needed saying, and did not linger. Before he left, he still courteously and politely wished her a smooth journey.

The plane was very large and spacious, its interior decorated in a way that was both comfortable and luxurious.

The Gulfstream G550 had always been a favorite among the world’s top tycoons; owning a plane like this was itself a symbol of status.

After all, a plane with a price tag in the hundreds of millions could only be bought by the very top echelon of the rich.

After boarding, Scarlett was guided by a flight attendant toward the rest area.

She had barely taken a few steps when she heard a woman’s laughter drift over from some direction. The laugh was charming, soft and gentle, pleasant to the ear.

Following the sound of the laughter, Scarlett saw a scene that made her temper spike in an instant.

In the rest area, Matthew Saxon was lounging at an angle in a soft leather seat, holding a crystal wineglass in hand. A flight attendant stood by his side, a bottle of red wine in her hand, tilting the bottle to pour into his glass.

Even before the wine came out, the one pouring and the one about to drink seemed to already be drunk.

The flight attendant’s bright, striking face was tinged with a rosy flush, her eyes seductive, every line of her brows and lids full of allure as she lowered her head to look at Matthew Saxon.

Matthew Saxon was looking at her too.

Those long, fox-like eyes of his were naturally electric, enough to easily hook a woman’s soul; now he was even deliberately adding a touch of seduction, the outer corners of his eyes slightly lifted, those shimmering pupils staring at her with a half-smile, half-not expression.

One had her head lowered, the other slightly raised.

One’s gaze brimming with affection, the other’s lips curved with obvious interest—no matter how you looked at it, it was the picture of a man and woman mutually attracted, a scene positively dripping with adulterous chemistry.

Matthew Saxon’s hand was still wrapped around the flight attendant’s wrist.

Even with a man taking advantage of her so boldly, the flight attendant wasn’t angry. Her cheeks were faintly red as she looked at him, shy and demure.

When Scarlett walked over, the two who were locked in that tender, lingering gaze were apparently too engrossed to notice her.

She heard Matthew Saxon still flirting with the flight attendant: "If every flight I took had a flight attendant as beautiful as you to keep me company, no matter how long we were in the air, I’d never feel bored."

The flight attendant shyly pressed her lips together. "With someone of Mr. Saxon’s status, you must have seen more beauties than anyone could count. How could I possibly be called beautiful? Mr. Saxon is flattering me far too much."

"Beauty isn’t just about looks. There are plenty of good-looking women, but not many whose temperament is this sweet and endearing."
