Chapter 1249: Old Woman, Pauper
Everything was different from what she expected.
This surprised Scarlett Yates.
Suddenly, she felt that perhaps her mind was a bit too dark.
No matter how despicable and hateful Noah Yates was, she shouldn’t transfer her hatred for him onto her half-brother and sister.
She had thought she would be unwelcome, but Rose Yates’s enthusiasm changed her perspective.
This sister seemed rather cute.
"Sister, I have a secret to tell you, could you squat down a bit so I can whisper it to you?" Rose lifted her innocent face, smiling sweetly at her.
That kind of smile is impossible to dislike.
Scarlett hesitated for a moment, then slowly squatted down.
Rose’s arms wrapped around her waist, but then shifted to hook around her neck.
Her fragrant, soft body nestled in Scarlett’s embrace, her pink, pretty face close to Scarlett’s ear as she whispered very softly, "Old woman, pauper, you want to be our sister? Dream on."
Scarlett’s body stiffened, incredulously lifting her head.
Rose had already released her hands, her innocent, pretty little face still adorned with a sweet smile, like a cute little angel, softly saying, "Sister, this is just our little secret, okay? Sister can’t tell anyone, I only want to share this with sister because I really really like sister."
After speaking, she tilted her little head, kissed Scarlett’s cheek, and then ran back to Noah, covering her mouth and looking shy.
The girl’s lips were soft and lovely, like flower petals.
Scarlett felt a sense of disgust.
Her eyes still held a trace of shock, as she watched Rose, already back beside Noah, acting spoiled.
Just now, the girl who smiled like an angel had said something chilling.
And this girl was only ten years old.
A ten-year-old child, already learning to act, and doing it so well, so convincingly.
Scarlett suddenly felt a bit cold, a cold that came from a deep fear.
"Rose, what exactly did you say to your sister?" Noah hadn’t expected that his willful, spoiled daughter would accept Scarlett so quickly.
Seeing his two daughters getting along so well so soon made him happy, his face full of comforting smiles, believing that Rose was very sensible, looking at his youngest daughter with extra indulgence.
"Sister." Nolan Yates seemed a bit embarrassed, his face slightly flushed, and he called out softly.
Scarlett stood up from the ground.
She responded lightly, and her gaze inadvertently caught the fleeting triumph and disdain in Rose’s eyes.

Scarlett also smiled sweetly and said, "Sister is looking at the necklace on your neck. It’s globally limited, right? I just saw a celebrity couple wearing it on a magazine recently. I thought it was really beautiful then, and as expected, the real thing is even prettier than the photos."
