Chapter 1235: Yates Family, Which Yates Family?
That group of ambitious people all thought Matthew Saxon was dead, believing their chance had come. If they knew he was in A Country, his situation might be a bit dangerous.
Matthew Saxon indeed understood what she meant and fell silent immediately.
"Just rest here and recover with peace of mind. As far as I know, Grandfather has already gone to deal with the related matters. You don’t need to worry too much about the company’s issues; it won’t be too late to go back once your health is restored."
He pondered for a moment and nodded in agreement.
"Well, good night."
The sofa still had that quilt tossed over it, but Scarlett Yates didn’t intend to sleep there again.
Matthew Saxon’s attitude towards her wasn’t as bad as before, but he still likely didn’t like sharing a room with someone.
Scarlett Yates gathered up the quilt and had already reached the door when Matthew suddenly called her back.
"Scarlett Yates."
She immediately stopped, feeling a hint of joy inside, wondering if he might have changed his mind?
The voice behind her paused for a few seconds before faintly speaking again: "Good night."
A simple good night stirred ripples of emotion in Scarlett Yates’ heart, and she couldn’t help but smile, gently replying, "Mm, good night, see you in the morning."
A moment later, the door softly closed.
Matthew Saxon watched in the direction she left, pondering for a while.
Is this woman really trustworthy?
If Noah Yates truly imprisoned him, was it just to force his daughter to acknowledge her roots?
He immediately dismissed that possibility.
Noah Yates, no matter how much he dotes on his daughter, wouldn’t imprison someone from the Saxon Family over something so trivial.
There are major issues with Noah Yates.
Returning to Z City might not be so easy.
--
Scarlett Yates woke up very early.
At five in the morning, she hugged her quilt and went to the room next to Matthew Saxon’s to sleep for a while. Two and a half hours later, she was awake.
Getting up early and freshening up, she headed to the canteen with panda eyes to buy breakfast.
When she arrived, it was the dining time for hospital staff, and there were quite a few people eating in the canteen.
Scarlett Yates observed that the breakfast in the hospital was quite abundant, offering both Western and Chinese dishes, all looking fairly decent, so there was no need to buy from outside.
She queued behind the staff, mulling over Matthew Saxon’s preference for Western flavors. When it was her turn, she ordered a sandwich, a fried egg, and a box of milk. For herself, she got a cup of soy milk and a fried dough stick.
After purchasing, she turned around with the bag, only to hear a snide voice behind her: "Oh, I thought I was seeing things, but it really is Miss Yates. Who’d have thought the heiress would buy breakfast in the common staff canteen?"
The voice was not unfamiliar to Scarlett Yates.
Scarlett Yates frowned and looked up, sure enough seeing the young nurse standing just two or three steps away, with an unfamiliar face beside her, presumably a colleague.
"Annie, who is this..." the young nurse’s colleague asked curiously, glancing at Scarlett Yates before turning back to inquire.
The young nurse covered her mouth and giggled, sounding like an old hen laying eggs. "You don’t know Miss Yates?"
"Which Yates Family?" Her colleague, seemingly uninformed, asked curiously.
The young nurse laughed with a certain implication: "The richest Yates Family in A Country, of course."
