Will the Aloof Billionaire Divorce Today?

Chapter 1232: Do You Really Want to Hear?

Just like that, she even dared to say she’d watched him do a striptease.

Setting aside whether that ever even happened—say he really had done it, would she have dared to watch?

"Oh? Then tell me, what other outrageous things did I do to win you over?" All of a sudden, he found this woman somewhat entertaining.

It was a long night, and he wasn’t sleepy at all. There wasn’t any entertainment to kill the boredom, so he might as well listen and see just how far she would spin her nonsense.

The feeling was like watching a clown at the circus—when he thought about it, it was actually kind of amusing.

"You did a lot of outrageous things."

"I don’t remember any of these things you’re talking about. Why don’t you tell me one by one? Maybe once I’ve heard them all, I’ll remember faster. You want me to get my memory back soon too, right?"

Scarlett Yates couldn’t quite figure out what was going through his mind.

"You really want to hear it?"

Matthew Saxon nodded. "I do. Of course, if you’re sleepy now and want to go to bed, then forget it."

At first, Scarlett had been in a bit of a mischievous mood. Seeing how arrogant and high-and-mighty he looked, she’d wanted to make up some ridiculous stories just to gross him out. But now that she could tell he genuinely wanted to know how they used to get along, she hesitated for a few seconds and decided not to keep lying to him.

The doctor had also said she could tell him some memorable events to help stimulate his memory and speed up his recovery.

She thought seriously for a while, then picked out the things she found most unforgettable and told them to him one by one.

Like, how the first time they met, he kidnapped her.

And for example, how he’d stolen her first kiss.

And how, for her sake, he’d risked a lot to go to the island in a torrential storm to look for her. Of course, there was also how they met for the second time—at her most humiliating moment, it was him who showed up to get her out of it, taking her away from Henry Dales’s birthday party.

And what did she do in return? She repaid kindness with a slap across his face. Enraged, he dumped her out in the pitch-dark outskirts.

As she talked, Scarlett suddenly realized she had pretty much told him everything that had happened between their first meeting and their eventual marriage.

In her heart, it seemed like every single thing was unforgettable.

She spoke in bits and pieces, a little scattered—this for a while, that for a while—but throughout the whole process, Matthew never interrupted her.

He just sat there quietly listening.

His long, beautiful Peach Blossom Eyes calmly rested on her, his gaze smooth and unreadable, faint and cool, giving nothing away of what he was feeling.

But Scarlett did notice that although his expression was still faint, still that same poker face, his eyes were no longer just pure coldness and distance.

It wasn’t what you’d call gentle, and it had nothing to do with warmth, but at least, he didn’t seem to be rejecting her so much anymore.

Such a tiny change, yet it filled Scarlett with a quiet joy. As long as he didn’t push her away or despise her anymore, that was already enough for her.

"I asked you about it later—the whole thing about the marriage certificate going up in price was completely made up by you. Actually, even if you hadn’t tricked me like that back then, I still would’ve agreed to go get the license with you."

Matthew Saxon was a very smart man.

At the beginning, he hadn’t believed a single word of Scarlett’s nonsense.

But now, he could see that she was no longer lying.

When she’d been making things up just now, her eyes had been blinking like crazy.
