Chapter 1373 - 1375
"Wow, this is so pretty." Renee had thought that with someone as showy as Guang Ran, he’d definitely book some fancy hotel.
She never expected he’d actually find a private villa, and the surroundings were just amazing.
See, he said this time he was absolutely going to give Renee and the others a huge surprise.
"This is some big shot’s vacation villa."
"Whoa." Impressive. Renee wanted to praise Guang Ran’s powerful network—he’d actually managed to borrow a place this good.
"It cost money. They gave a clear price and we just paid." Guang Ran quickly rattled off a number.
"Of course it comes with a butler." Guang Ran had never stayed somewhere this high-end either; he’d just heard his friends talk about how amazing it felt to stay here.
He’d also seen the photos his friends posted, so when he asked around a bit and found out the villa happened to be vacant, he immediately offered to rent it.
When he paid the rent, his hands had literally been shaking; the price was so high he’d almost cried.
But seeing even his big brother and the others all wearing such happy, excited expressions now, Guang Ran knew this money was totally worth it.
"Bro, once we start making money, we’ll buy a place here too. The whole family can vacation here, and when we’re not using it, we can rent it out." Guang Ran had made sure to carefully study the rental rates for this villa.
Originally, in Guang Ran’s view, buying a place like this was just burning money. After all, you have to pay property tax every year, then there’s the cost of hiring a butler—those are all expenses.
But now he realized how wrong he’d been before. As long as you plan things properly, this can actually make money.
Guang Ran set down his luggage and didn’t rush to pick a room. Anyway, the best room was reserved for his big brother.
"Bro, let me tell you." He dragged Xuran aside and chattered nonstop about the benefits of buying property in Hawaii.
Renee shook her head. Faced with someone who’s always thinking about making money, then buying houses and expanding his property portfolio, she honestly didn’t know how to comment.
"Let’s go pick rooms." Xiao Zhi walked into the villa and literally couldn’t keep his eyes from widening.
"This villa is huge. Sis, do you like it?" Xiao Zhi asked Renee, his eyes shining.
"Who wouldn’t like it?" Renee looked out at the garden beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the green lawn, the colorful flowers, not to mention the fruit trees with fruit hanging from the branches.
Especially when you looked into the distance, it was the vast Pacific Ocean.
"The view is insanely good." She’d thought that waking up every day to New York’s Central Park was already indescribable.
She never expected an even better view here. "But the price is still the price."
No need to ask the price to know it had to be all kinds of expensive. Even though Renee liked this place so much, she knew that to actually buy a house in a spot this beautiful, even if they could rent it out later, the initial investment would be huge.
"Price is not a problem, Sis, you gotta have faith in me."
"Once I’ve made money, I’ll definitely buy you a villa like this." Xiao Zhi said sweetly.
Renee didn’t think she needed her little brother to pay if she ever bought a villa like this, but hearing him say something so sweet really warmed her heart.
"Xiao Zhi, you’re too good to me."
Limin stood off to the side listening to the siblings talk, and he was just dumbfounded. He’d tried to hold it in a bit.
But he really couldn’t help it and burst out laughing. "Hey, Xiao Zhi, by the time you’ve made enough to buy this place, you’ll already have a girlfriend."
"You’re not going to buy a house to coax your girlfriend?" No matter how close brothers are, once you have a wife, can it really stay the same?
Wow, this guy was seriously annoying. Renee shot Limin a vicious glare. Did this guy not realize this moment was supposed to belong to the siblings?
Didn’t he know he should quietly walk away right now? And if he really wanted to eavesdrop, shouldn’t he at least hide in a corner quietly?
She had literally never seen anyone eavesdrop this brazenly.
Limin couldn’t care less about Renee’s look. He honestly didn’t think he’d said anything wrong.
"Buy a house to coax a girlfriend?" Xiao Zhi looked at Limin in total disbelief.
Then he quickly turned to Liren. "Brother Dai, look at Brother Limin—he’s saying you should buy a house to coax a girl."
"Does he not know how hard it is to make money?"
"He actually wants to give his money away to outsiders."
"Bro, he’s a total ungrateful wretch." Xiao Zhi said angrily.
Then he kept reassuring Renee beside him. "Sis, don’t worry. I would never do that."
"Once I’ve got money, I’ll buy a house for Mom and Dad, and a house for you, Sis."
Man, what was up with this kid? He’d just been explaining the proper way to do things, and the kid turned around and tattled on him—tattled right in front of his big brother.
This kid was really too much. Did he not realize this is how you lose friends?
Limin wanted to drag Xiao Zhi aside for a good heart-to-heart, but before he could move, Liren had already pulled him away.
"Bro, bro, I was just talking." It was embarrassing, sure, but to avoid his second brother giving him a "love lesson," Limin immediately chickened out.
"If I have money, I’ll still buy a house for you. How could I buy a house for some girl?"
"Not even for my wife. I was just talking with Xiao Zhi."
"Wow, Brother Limin, you’re too much, trying to coax me into doing something that stupid." Xiao Zhi was furious.
"Relax." Liren truly couldn’t stand how dumb his little brother was acting.
He was clearly a pretty smart kid—how had he suddenly turned this stupid?
"Sis, I’m awesome, right?" Seeing Limin being dragged out into the garden, Xiao Zhi grinned, looking at Renee with pure delight.
"Sis, don’t worry, I really am going to buy you a villa like this." Xiao Zhi reaffirmed.
Xuran quietly curled up in the back. Hearing his little brother-in-law still talking like that, he was as frustrated as it gets, but he still kept a smiling face.
"Xiao Zhi, when it comes to buying villas, your brother-in-law’s got it."
"If a kid like you buys a villa for your sister, that’s a slap in your brother-in-law’s face." It’s not like he’s broke—how could he let his little brother-in-law buy a house for his sister?
Not even under the name of a dowry. Future cars, houses—those were things he, as the head of the household, should be providing.
"You can buy yours."
Xiao Zhi pouted. What a stingy guy. "I’ll buy mine. It’s my way of showing filial respect to my sister."
Hmph, he was absolutely going to treat his sister well. Big Bro had said they had to work hard so they wouldn’t get left too far behind by their brother-in-law.
Their parents were already old. They had to take over their parents’ burdens and become a strong support for their sister.
Seeing his little brother-in-law twist his words around, and even bring out threats to no avail, Xuran was utterly helpless.
Guang Ran looked at his big brother with pure envy. He understood why his big brother might feel a bit humiliated, but with such an awesome little brother-in-law, how could he not be jealous?
No, actually, the more little brothers-in-law like this, the better. Being good to your wife is a given, and on top of that you get extra money and houses—how could you possibly pass up something this great?
