Chapter 1261 - 1263
Taking advantage of class time, Gong Ruini quietly instructed Qiao Yanran about the matter.
Luo Zijun saw Gong Ruini and Qiao Yanran talking, and couldn’t help but feel tense.
Although yesterday Gong Ruini showed a friendly concern for a heartbroken roommate.
But being able to lead the school to such success amid so many challenges, could she be a simple character?
If you’re not careful about this, it could really spell big trouble, equating to a future with no prospects.
"What are you guys talking about?" Luo Zijun asked curiously.
See, she’s really paying special attention to her at all times, Gong Ruini felt glad she listened to Zhao Xuran yesterday and didn’t impulsively run back.
Otherwise, how could Luo Zijun appear so relaxed now?
"We were talking about a new place on the nearby food street that specializes in Xinjiang cuisine." Gong Ruini was really talking about food.
The main concern took just a couple of sentences, and no matter how curious Qiao Yanran was, she knew this time and place wasn’t for her curiosity.
After talking about the main issue, of course, they discussed the nearby food. After all, discussing where to find good food is a big deal for them.
"Xinjiang cuisine?" Are they really discussing food? Luo Zijun looked at Qiao Yanran skeptically.
The latter stuck out her tongue, "The grilled beef skewers were good, really delicious, and the hand-pulled rice too."
"When I ate there the other day, I was thinking of finding time to invite people to go together. I think the big plate chicken was nice."
"With that naan, the taste would definitely be great." Remembering seeing the people at the next table enjoying their meal, Qiao Yanran felt her stomach growling with hunger.
"Oh, we can’t keep talking about this, or my stomach will start protesting non-stop." Qiao Yanran said she didn’t want to talk about it, but her mouth was still quite honest.
"Ni Zi, shall we go and try the Xinjiang cuisine together?"
"Of course, no problem." These days, the portion sizes are really generous, "We haven’t been to Xinjiang, but we can’t miss the delicious food from there."
"Yeah, it’s all about delicious food." Qiao Yanran never imagined going to Xinjiang; for her, the biggest reward of studying in Beijing was tasting all sorts of delicious food from around the country.
"Is it really that tasty?" Luo Zijun was skeptical. Could it be such a coincidence that they are going out to eat today?
Could it be they have something to tell Qiao Yanran, or maybe Qiao Yanran has something to tell Gong Ruini, hence the outing to eat?
Hmph, trying to avoid her to exchange information? Dream on; as long as she’s around, that won’t happen.
"Of course it’s tasty." There’s definitely something fishy, or why would she even ask if it’s good.
She used to discuss food with Gong Ruini and even invite everyone in the dorm for a dinner, yet this primary person never participated.
"Want to join us? Everyone pays their way." Some people, even after a breakup, still have something deeply etched in their bones.
Surprisingly, she invited her to eat without hesitation. If they were really plotting something, they wouldn’t invite her.
Then again, they had invited her to eat before, and she had declined. Could this be another ploy, waiting for her to say no again?
"Sure, I could use an upgrade on my diet." Not keeping an eye on them isn’t an option; who knows how they’ll discuss her?
"Great, the more, the merrier; we can order more dishes." Qiao Yanran was delighted, "Gao Jing, are you coming?"
"Yes, why not for good food?"
"Exactly, it’s been a while since we had a group meal."
And just like that, it turned into a dorm dinner party. Luo Zijun felt a bit disappointed; she was hoping for a smaller group to find a chance to talk to Gong Ruini.
Who knew it would become a big dinner party? How was she supposed to start the conversation now?
Luo Zijun pondered with displeasure, a frown forming on her face.
Qiao Yanran wasn’t pleased either. She clearly suggested joining, and once everyone confirmed, she put on an unpleasant face.
"Let’s have lunch together, but remember, it’s every person pays for themselves." Hmph, last time someone also insisted on joining; upon hearing everyone pays for themselves, she immediately had a difficult look on her face.
Especially when it came time to pay, she muttered a few words, "Luo Zijun, are you sure?"
"Yes." Was it necessary to repeat this so many times? Did she think she had bad hearing? Also, why insist on pulling her out; she never paid during previous group meals.
"See, when the meal’s expensive, who knows how poor her expression will be." Qiao Yanran had no fondness for Luo Zijun. It’s not like she’s poor, yet she’d always fuss when it came to paying.
Will her face look bad this time? Gong Ruini didn’t think so. Besides, it seemed like Luo Zijun had something urgent to discuss with her.
What could Luo Zijun want? Does she hope Gong Ruini would severely punish Zhang Yan Yang or hope Zhang Yan Yang would agree to marry her?
If it’s the former, even without Luo Zijun saying so, Gong Ruini wouldn’t let him off the hook.
As for the latter, Gong Ruini initially considered pairing them up, but if that’s Luo Zijun’s desire, Gong Ruini felt a bit unwilling.
Isn’t it just a clear scheme against her? And why specifically call her to the dorm yesterday? Even if she wanted her to know about the breakup, she could have told her today.
Seems like there really is an elaborate plan here, Gong Ruini pondered while attending class, wondering what Luo Zijun wanted with her.
While Gong Ruini was contemplating Luo Zijun’s intentions, the latter was troubled about how to start the conversation.
At this moment, she really regretted not forming a better alliance with Gong Ruini back then. Could she have gone to Gong Ruini’s house to see her if they had?
Just knowing where Gong Ruini’s house is doesn’t mean she can just visit.
Luo Zijun, feeling helpless, thought about it for a long time and finally resorted to a method she least wanted to use.
Watching Gong Ruini seriously take notes, she pouted. Her family is already so rich, why compete with them?
Doesn’t she know this puts too much pressure on people?
She kept saying there are significant differences between domestic law and American law. Isn’t it unnecessary for someone aiming to develop in the United States to study so diligently in class?
This person, really, is just showing off and trying to let everyone know how studious she is and how eager she is to improve.
Fake, as fake as can be, Luo Zijun really couldn’t bear to see Gong Ruini.
Luo Zijun looked down at her book, genuinely not wanting to chat with those around her. Of course, the people around might not want to chat with her either, especially the girls.
As for the boys, some might be willing to chat with her, but remembering Luo Zijun’s boyfriend currently being locked up somewhere, each one had second thoughts. This woman is toxic.
