Chapter 15 - 14 Crushing
Gong Ruini kept reminding herself before going to bed that she must wake up early the next day to help out the family.
Tomorrow is the day the family will break ground to build a house, but as soon as Gong Ruini went to sleep, she woke up to hear all kinds of lively sounds in the yard.
"No way." Listening to the noises outside, Gong Ruini suddenly sat up. She could see the shadows of people bustling outside the window and the sunlight streaming into the room.
Oh no, she overslept again. Gong Ruini was really embarrassed and shy. She had promised to be a helpful little assistant.
Yesterday at the dinner table, she even boasted loudly. Now just starting, she’s already busted her brag; what should she do?
Gong Ruini could easily imagine Zhao Guangran, that smug little brat, being unbearably pleased and perhaps waiting in the yard to laugh at her.
The thought of being mocked by a smug brat made Gong Ruini feel uncomfortable all over.
"Hahaha, I knew I’d wake up earlier than Ni Zi." Zhao Guangran had thought he woke up late but was surprised to find out he woke up earlier than Gong Ruini, making him extremely smug.
No way, did Zhao Guangran just wake up? Gong Ruini was dumbfounded, regretting that she had been lost in thought. If she hadn’t been daydreaming and just got up straight away, she would have beaten him to it.
