SSS-Tier Extraction: From Outcast to Overgod!

Chapter 125: The Siege of Sector Epsilon

The new alliance with Sanctuary was a warm, hopeful light on the bridge of the Odyssey. For a few, brief hours, there was a sense of progress, of building something strong and good.

Seraphina was getting a tour of the ship from a very enthusiastic Chris Magnus, who was proudly explaining the snack dispenser’s many features.

Emma and Zara were at their consoles, working with Sanctuary’s scientists to link their information networks. Scarlett stood near the captain’s chair, a quiet and watchful shadow, her presence a comforting constant.

Ryan felt, for the first time, like they were truly on the right path.

The peace was shattered by a loud, blaring alarm. A piercing siren that meant only one thing: an emergency.

"What is that?" Seraphina asked, her tour forgotten.

"That’s the ’Something Is Very Wrong’ alarm," Chris said, dropping a half-eaten protein bar.

"Priority One distress signal!" Zara called out from her station, her fingers flying across the screen. "It’s coming from a neutral sector. Sector Epsilon."

"Put it on the main screen," Ryan commanded, his calm mood vanishing, replaced by the sharp focus of a commander.

The large screen flickered to life. The face that appeared was young, barely a man, his blond hair messy and his uniform torn at the collar. His face was pale, smudged with soot, and his eyes were wide with sheer terror.

Behind him, the bridge of his own ship was in chaos. Sparks rained down from the ceiling, alarms blared, and through a crack in his viewport, explosions blossomed silently in the blackness of space.

"This is Sector Lord Kaelen of Sector Epsilon!" the young man yelled, his voice strained and cracking with panic. "We are under attack! The Technocratic Hegemony... Lord Valerius... he just appeared! His fleet is tearing us apart!"
