They had interrogated Maki earlier, after his belief was hit, Maki told some truths due of his inner turmoil, but it was these "truths" which Maki said that made Byakuya feel complicated, and even somewhat unacceptable.
"I was here from a long time ago."
Mazuru said calmly.
