Chimaera's Conquest: The Legend Of The Devourer

Chapter 297: Monkey King (1)

A week passed in the blink of an eye. Adrian sold everything he wanted to and became one of the richest players on the first floor. However, it was the end of his time on the first floor.

The lower floors had a time limit to clear them. The tower would throw out the player if they didn’t climb to the next floor within the given time. Quite a few agents from the DRA took advantage of this and, thanks to that, humanity had a lot of info about the first ten floors of the tower.

Other than that, if the players wanted to stay on the said floor, they had to denounce their participation and then they could stay on the first floor as residents. That’s what most of the poachers did to expand their numbers.

The other way to leave the tower was by paying the admins to receive a key to leave the tower of their own volition. These conditions were only valid for the first 10 floors. After that, climbing the tower became a serious business that Adrian was eager to be a part of.

’So this is the Colosseum.’

Adrian stood in front of the grand structure made of stone and towering arches. The place had an air of faded glory, as if it had once been a vibrant centre of entertainment, but was now struggling to retain its former splendour.

The manager, a middle-aged man with a weary expression, sat at a desk near the entrance and explained the rules to the group of participants gathered around him.

"Welcome to the first-floor trial," the manager began, bored beyond his wit. "The challenge is straightforward. You must defeat a monster within the Colosseum."

He continued, "The monsters come in waves, and you can select how many waves you wish to face. As long as you clear the waves you choose, you will receive the rewards and proceed to the next floor."

Adrian listened attentively as the manager continued. "There is no lower or upper limit to the number of waves you can face. But the more waves you clear, the higher will be your reward."

Many people nodded, clearly thinking about taking the shortest path to the next floor. Even Adrian was aware of the little exploit everyone performed to clear the first floor with little to no effort.
