Chapter 293: Poachers (3)
Adrian stepped out of the room and found himself in a cave. But this wasn’t just any cave; it was artificial. Someone had built it, perhaps to hide the poachers or to ensure easy defence in case of an attack.
To make things worse, the whole place was a massive maze. Escaping without running into other poachers would be nearly impossible, even for him.
Thankfully, he had no desire to escape the place quietly. He was there to deal with them, and that’s what he would do.
"It’s a shame I can’t use [Blood Mist] here," Adrian muttered as he strolled through the catacombs. "If I ended up hurting any innocent people, the admin would not be happy with me."
Inside the tower, there were two kinds of people. First, there were the players who came in from outside. Then, there were the residents who had been born with the tower and lived like characters in a game. Their only goal was to aid the players by setting up shops, restaurants, inns, etc.
As the residents played an important role in maintaining the tower’s ecosystem, any hostile action against them meant going against the tower itself. It was up to the admins to ensure that those who broke the rules faced appropriate consequences.
"But what would you do if the admin sided with the aggressors? Absolutely nothing," Adrian mumbled.
The admin of the first floor knew about the poachers and didn’t lift a finger to stop them. That alone was sufficient to know what kind of relationship the admin must have with Olympus.
As such, by going against the poachers, Adrian was taking a gamble. The administrators couldn’t step in directly when players had issues, but they could use sneaky ways around the rules to handle people they didn’t favour.
