Hunters from the Sons of the Moon guild had arrived at the dungeon prior to the decided time. Despite the exaggerated tales of their illicit activities, they were a bunch of simpletons in a good way.
Obviously, Adrian had done his research about them as soon as John asked his team to participate in the joint exercise. He wasn’t taking any chances after what happened with Lucas and Felicia.
He was even more careful about them because they had links with Lucas and Felicia, which meant they could as well turn against him. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.
But he did find something interesting. The White Tiger Clan seemed to have been active in Hawaii for quite some time, but they disappeared right around the time Vernian struck their convoy.
As much as Adrian wanted to chalk it up to coincidence, he couldn’t. It was another reason he readily agreed to the mission, hoping he would get some time to investigate the clan and get some leads to where Vernian was hiding.
Meanwhile, near the dungeon...
"They are here," Ezekial, the blonde guy, mumbled, getting off the tree.
"They have a certain tense aura around them," Ruby, the only lady on the team, said as she cleaned her equipment.
On cue, Adrian, Aria, and Sophia exited the vehicle. Despite John’s wishes, Adrian didn’t take the rest with him because of Vernian. There was no saying when and what a psycho like him would do, so leaving Seraphina and Vesper to protect Amelia was the right decision.
