Chapter 230: Clowns Can’t Be That Scary... (2)
It had all been a part of Henry’s plan since the beginning. Lady Maria had informed him about Adrian’s skill set once he called her following the explosions.
Although Henry had no idea how Maria knew that much about Adrian, he had a feeling the Goddess might have something to do with it. Either way, he was aware of Adrian’s ability to turn invisible and erase his presence.
Using that knowledge to his advantage, Henry baited Adrian into attacking him to lock him up with the boss.
"Enjoy your time in there, Adrian Fenrir," Henry laughed, confident of his victory. "For it will be your final moments."
"You seem confident," Adrian scoffed once the initial shock wore off. "Have it crossed your mind that you gave me what I wanted?"
Hearing the bravado in Adrian’s voice made Henry laugh maniacally. The super rookie might seem confident now, but it would all fade once he saw the creature he was up against.
Despite its B-rank status, the monster within had a reputation that sent shivers down the spines of even the most seasoned A-ranked hunters. Besides, it had claimed the lives of those well beyond level 70. A level 30 like Adrian would be no match for this beast.
But Henry didn’t want to spoil the surprise and left with his men to control the fire. After all, Adrian was as good as dead, and there was no point in staying there, even though Henry would give everything to watch the intruder wither away into nothing.
"I bid you farewell, Mr Fenrir," Henry smirked. "But fret not. I’ll be sure to send my men to collect your corpse and turn you into one of the mindless soldiers you killed... after all, that’s what our Goddess had willed for you."
