Chapter 221: Ghost Soldiers (1)
The Miami skyline sparkled like a jewel against the dark canvas of the night sky. Neon lights danced and flickered, casting vibrant shades of pink, blue, and gold onto the towering skyscrapers that stretched towards the skies.
The streets below were alive with the hustle and bustle of nightlife, full of life with the laughter, music, and the occasional roar of a passing sports car.
But far away from the noise and chaos of the city, Adrian’s villa was shrouded in silence as the inhabitants were sound asleep after a long and tiring session of plotting ways to deal with the Misty Swords.
Adrian’s plan of exposing the guild had worked hilariously well. He knew the guild probably still suspected him, but as long as he kept his act, none of them could prove anything, let alone do anything about it.
However, Adrian had quite a few enemies. Some of them he didn’t know existed. Silently, a group of shadowy figures crept through the darkness. They scaled the walls and forced their way through windows without alerting anyone.
These were no ordinary intruders, but skilled mercenaries hired for one purpose and one purpose only: to eliminate their target at any cost. But something felt odd about them. Their movements seemed relatively rigid for some trained assassins.
"Team... in... position..." one of the men hummed in an electronic voice. "Awaiting... instructions..."

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Amelia yawned as she walked in to fetch a glass of water, her bare feet padding softly against the cool tile floor.
Just when she was about to leave, something caught her attention—a faint rustling sound, barely audible over the gentle hum of the night. She might not have noticed the sound if it had not been for her outstanding hearing ability.
Amelia’s senses snapped into high alert as she spun around, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger. And then, without warning, a hail of arrows rained down from above.
