Chapter 189: Uninvited Guest (2)
Much to everyone’s surprise, Emma stepped out of her car, her heels clicking against the pavement as she approached Adrian and Seraphina, standing near the villa’s entrance upon noticing the car.
"What the hell does she want now?" Adrian mumbled as he watched her with his arms crossed over his chest.
"It’s been a while, Adrian-"
"What are you doing here, Emma?" Adrian cut her off, not caring about her greetings.
Emma waved the letters in her hands with a hint of annoyance. This was different from how she had imagined their meeting would start. After all, she had come all the way there to warm him up, and this was the greeting he was giving her?
Emma knew Adrian had changed but didn’t expect him to be that cold. Unfortunately for him, the reality checks would keep hitting her from then on.
"I might have left the villa, but it’s still officially my address," she replied, trying to maintain the sweet, innocent image that Adrian had fallen for years ago. "So I came to collect my mail. I hope you won’t mind me dropping in unannounced."
"And you got that, so why don’t you leave now while I’m being civil?" Adrian rolled his eyes at her explanation, knowing all too well the true reason for her sudden appearance.
It was clear that Emma was trying to worm her way back into his life after cheating on him and turning his family against him. Considering how heartless she had been before, Adrian wouldn’t be surprised if she was there to rub even more salt on a wound that had healed long ago.
