Chapter 158: Magic In The Eyes Of The Beholder
Adrian tried to pull back. But before he could react, the old man’s hand shot out, grabbing his leg with his vice grip. With little to no effort, the old man then proceeded to toss Adrian across the room.
With nothing to hold onto, Adrian flew across the room, stopping after hitting the wall on the opposite side. The cracked plaster splintered under the force of his impact, leaving Adrian dizzy and disoriented. But his troubles were yet to appear.
"Weak... that’s what you are! How dare you seek revenge on us with that pathetic strength?"
Adrian couldn’t hear the old man’s words and grabbed his head as blood trickled down. His vision turned blurry, like he was underwater. He blinked rapidly, trying to shake himself to his senses.
’That hurt...’ It was the only thought in Adrian’s head.
Groaning, Adrian struggled to get up from the floor, his muscles protesting against every move he made. Impressed by his resilience, the old man raised an eyebrow. Not a lot of people would have the guts to stand back up after what he had done to Adrian.
"You managed to crack the wall, impressive..." the old man mumbled, walking towards Adrian. "You see, it isn’t any ordinary wall. It’s made from the bones and hide of the toughest monsters Nexaria has ever encountered-"
"Cut the crap... old man..." Adrian replied, spitting out a mouthful of blood. "I’m not here for a history lesson."
"Ah, the fiery blood of the youth," the old man sighed. "Unfortunately, it looks like no one taught you how to respect the elders. Don’t worry, I’ll correct that mistake now."
