Chapter 130: The Price Of Betrayal (2)
While Adrian thought of ways to deal with the tribe without depending on the Minotaur’s heart, a familiar face appeared before him.
"Milka, my son, what did you do to him!? Where is he!?" Suhi yelled, breaking from the crowd.
Adrian could have given him a straight answer, but not anymore. He was going to toy with them, just like they had played with the heroes.
"What do you mean, Dad?" Adrian replied in his altered voice to replicate Milka’s. "I’m here, right in front of you! I never left our tribe. At the moment, I’m just hanging out with the slimes, feeding myself to them. But don’t worry; soon, you’ll be joining me."
"You bastard! How could you!?" Suhi’s voice trembled with anguish as he cried for Milka, even though he knew his son wasn’t returning to him. "You will never know peace! This is a father’s curse-"
"As if I have ever felt at peace," Adrian shook his head, mumbling to himself as Suhi collapsed to his knees, cursing Adrian through his tears.
"Stop with the crocodile tears. Think about the families of the heroes. Imagine the pain they would feel, seeing the severed heads of their loved ones." Adrian continued. "Your tribe started the war. I’m only here to put an end to it-"
"You’re some messiah, huh?" Vincent scoffed, pointing his sword towards Adrian. "You low-life bastard! All of this happened because of you! If only you had died that night like planned, none of this would have happened-"
At that moment, Vincent had a strange look on his face. He realised he had messed up by saying those words. Although he had been aware of Adrian’s assassination plan, he had no part in it. But for Adrian, it would seem that it was Vincent’s plan to get him killed.
