Chapter 119: Rock And A Hard Place (1)
The group sprinted towards the exit, their hearts pounding with the desperate hope of escape. But the Queen was one step ahead and had anticipated their every move.
As they hurried towards the exit, they were met with a horrifying sight. The corridor was covered in sticky webs. Clearly, it was a trap set by the Queen to trap them. One misstep, and they would be trapped, defenceless against the Queen and her spiderlings.
"Sophia, try to burn the webs or something," Adrian instructed, snatching Marcus’s shield from him since he was injured. "The rest of us will try to keep the monsters busy."
"On it!" Sophia replied and got to burn the webs, but it turned out to be harder than expected.
The webs were made of a strange material. They were as strong as steel, and magic had little effect on them. At this rate, it would take them hours to break through.
However, that wasn’t what Vincent and Clara were worried about.
"That voice and that demeanour..." Vincent mumbled.
It didn’t click when Adrian asked them to run since they were all preoccupied. But now that Adrian was in full commander mode, Vincent recognised him.
However, before he could point out the obvious, Amelia poked him with his elbow, asking him to be quiet while nodding towards Sula. Vincent was taken aback by her actions as she had never touched him before, maintaining the line between a soldier and a prince.
