Chapter 36: New Clues
Evening of September 18th.
In a guesthouse in Xuan Ning District.
Ye Gaoyi walked into the guesthouse with heavy steps.
"Hello, I'm the officer in charge of inspection."
Ye Gaoyi said, "Recently, there's been a fugitive spotted around here, a slightly chubby young man. Has anyone like that checked in here?"
Standing before Ye Gaoyi was an elderly lady. Upon hearing his words, she thought for a moment and shook her head.
Seeing her shaking her head, Ye Gaoyi retrieved a photo from his wallet and said, "Madam, does this fugitive look familiar to you?"
Squinting her eyes, the elderly lady examined the photo but eventually shook her head. "Officer... I don't remember seeing anyone like that."
"You should ask elsewhere. We have many guesthouses around here!"
Hearing her earnest response, Ye Gaoyi didn't press further.
