Chapter 113. Ross’s Request
----
Inside the lab, the dormant force within Nolan, what he referred to as Dragonforce, suddenly stirred to life. A soft white glow rippled along his spine, and pearly-white energy began circulating through specific pathways mapped deep within his nervous system.
The searing heat in his lungs cooled. His crimson-tinged eyes dimmed. Even the pressure in his skull, nearly unbearable minutes ago, began to ease.
Warm waves of internal energy spread outward, soothing the pain that had almost torn his mind apart.
"Damn... No wonder high-level psychics lose control during awakening. The sheer disruption to cerebral magnetic fields in that instant is overwhelming."
Rubbing his forehead, Nolan took a deep breath. The recent injection of the Magnetism Manipulation gene had been a hard-earned lesson.
Even for someone like him with enhanced biology and advanced control, a top-tier X-Gene awakening came with extreme risks. If he'd lost focus for even a moment, the entire lab complex could've been flattened.
He reflected aloud, "The lungs held up better because the magnetic intensity in that region is more stable. It's the brain volatile, ever-shifting that nearly short-circuited everything."
He jotted the experience down. This kind of data would be crucial for the mutant enhancement program he was planning.
Level-5 mutants were on a different plane entirely.
Everything developmental complexity, awakening risk, and power scale were exponentially beyond Level-4s.
