The Illegitimate Flame: Bride of Ashes

Chapter 37- extra

"What time is it?" Janet mumbled, clutching Charles’s arm. Her sleepy, wide eyes, tousled hair, and slightly parted pink lips gave her a kind of seductive beauty.

"It’s noon. Why didn’t you go eat?" Charles brushed the hair from her forehead, his large hand naturally resting on her slightly flushed cheek.

"I don’t feel like eating... I just want to sleep," Janet blinked slowly, realizing she had dozed off for over an hour. It was already lunchtime, but she had no appetite at all — only the lingering drowsiness.

"You can’t skip meals. Are you sick?" Charles reached out and felt her forehead. Not finding any sign of fever, he still wasn’t reassured and gently pulled her up. "I’m taking you to the hospital."

"No... no need. I’m not sick. Why are you back now? Have you eaten yet?" Janet was now fully awake, caught in his embrace, and when she turned her head, she met his intense gaze.

"No. Come with me," Charles said firmly, taking her hand and leading her out of the office. As they passed through the main hall, he didn’t let go of her hand for even a moment, completely unconcerned about what the other employees might think.

"What time is it?" Janet murmured drowsily, grabbing onto Charles’s arm. Her sleepy eyes, messy hair, and slightly parted pink lips gave her a kind of alluring beauty.

"It’s twelve. Why haven’t you gone to eat?" Charles gently brushed the hair from her forehead, his large hand naturally cupping her slightly flushed cheek.

"I don’t feel like eating. I just want to sleep." Janet blinked slowly, realizing she had been asleep for over an hour. It was already noon, but she had no appetite—just an overwhelming sense of fatigue.
