Chapter 64: The Flaw
Kael was fully alert and even had Alpha checking out for any dangers. Fortunately, nothing attacked them in the fog, and they safely reached the portal by following the map.
As they stared at the portal, all of them waited for Kael’s orders. They had two options—either retreat to the first floor, which would waste their buff of double Soul Power, or continue their search for monsters in this fog, hoping they didn’t encounter another Demi-God.
Kael had already thought of that, so he made the decision swiftly. "Seth and Jon will leave this floor and shift our loot and other stuff that I’ve talked about back to our lair. Of course, you can hunt any monsters to increase your level. But staying here is nothing but a death sentence."
The twins were reluctant, but they knew very well that if they stayed, they would only be a burden to their master. So they nodded after some thought.
"Kiona and I will stay and search the second floor for any potential monsters that we can slay and use to increase our ranks while also securing a safe area for us," Kael said, glancing at the lioness, who was clearly very excited to spend some time with him.
The twins understood their task and turned to enter the portal. Just as they were about to step into it, Kael stopped them.
"Wait!" Kael had a strange and confused look on his face as he asked, "Who here took the loot from the Nether Wolf?"
His question stumped the three of them, as they looked at each other in confusion. Then, the twins shook their heads, and Kiona also showed her confusion.
"Fuck!" Kael cursed under his breath. "Did this tree influence my thoughts even from a different floor?"
Kael wasn’t someone who would forget such matters, so the only possible situation was that the Crimson Tree had influenced him from across the floors.
One had to know that some higher-level Labyrinths worked differently from lower-level Labyrinths. Their floors weren’t as simple as a lower section in the same Labyrinth.
