Chapter 39 - 37: Danzo Tries to Recruit Garou. Garou Tries Not to Laugh
The next day, inside the Hokage's Office.
"Garou, Kakashi filled me in on the mission details."
"You did very well. It seems my decision to let your team take on a C-rank mission directly was the right one." Hiruzen smiled with satisfaction.
There had been resistance when he bypassed the usual D-rank route for a genin team, but he'd insisted.
Now, their performance had proven him right.
Their division of labor had been organized, their teamwork solid. This team was already operating at the level of a fully-formed unit.
"I just did what I thought needed to be done," Garou said modestly. He didn't think the mission had been that impressive.
After all, their opponents had just been ordinary samurai.
It was basically a one-sided battle, hardly a true test of coordination.
"Haha! For rookies, your first combat mission couldn't have gone better," the Third chuckled. "So, what brings you here today? Book exchange? Or something else?"
Garou handed over the three scrolls he'd borrowed, along with eight sealing tags and a short report.
