In the waters near Slateport City, a cruise ship rocked violently amidst the raging storm.

At the bow of the ship stood Roxanne, directing her Pokémon and the crew to fend off the crashing waves and the frenzied Water-type Pokémon attacking them.

Kyogre's awakening had not only brought storms and tsunamis but also chaos to the Pokémon living in the ocean. Many had been driven into a frenzy, turning their aggression toward humans.

Rustboro City, where Roxanne was based, had been relatively unaffected by Groudon and Kyogre's activities. As a result, she had been dispatched to Slateport City to aid ships stranded at sea.

But the current situation was far worse than she had anticipated.

"There are too many!"

The sea teemed with Pokémon, numbering in the billions. Even a small fraction being affected by the chaos was enough to overwhelm Roxanne. Combined with the relentless waves, she was quickly reaching her limit.

Her Pokémon were primarily Rock-types, and apart from her Probopass, the others had little to contribute in this watery battlefield.

"Just a little longer," she muttered, glancing toward the distant port.

This was the last ship she needed to escort to safety. Once it docked, she could finally take a break.

Wiping the sweat from her brow, Roxanne prepared to direct the crew to begin docking when a sailor's panicked voice broke through the noise.
