Chapter 70: See the stars
"Where am i..." Lailla woke up in an empty void, her feet shackled in chains, a sliver of light shinned above her, her eyes slowly opening at the sound of a voice that spoke over the warrior, as if echoing throughout the entire plain.
"Veira will put you back together..." She heard Godrick’s words, her eyes widened at his familiar tone.
"Godrick!?" She shouted, in hopes of getting his attention but he wouldn’t respond. "Godrick!!"
She shouted, shrieked and screamed but to no avail, her words would just echo back at her.
"Damn it! All because I ran into that weird looking girl—" She clicked her tongue in annoyance, trying to move her legs to realize she’s been chained down
Lailla gritted her teeth, her body tensing as she fought against the heavy iron shackles clamped around her ankles. The chains rattled with her every movement, echoing sharply across the void like ghostly laughter. She pulled, twisted, kicked—but the cold metal held fast, digging into her skin with each desperate jerk.
"Let me out!" she growled, her fingers clawing at the chains as if sheer willpower could undo them. Her breathing grew ragged, sweat forming at her brow despite the void’s unnatural stillness. She slammed her fists into the ground—solid, yet formless, as if the void mocked the very idea of resistance.
The light above flickered faintly, pulsing in time with her panic. Lailla’s arms trembled as she pressed against the unseen floor, trying to hoist herself up, only to be yanked back down by the restraints. The metal scraped her skin raw, and still, she kept fighting.
"Damn it—Veira, Godrick—anyone!" she screamed, her voice breaking into a hoarse cry, swallowed up by the darkness. "Damn it I wont stay here!"
Suddenly, the chains grew hot.
She winced, her eyes widening as the iron links began to glow faintly, not with fire—but with something older, something arcane.
