Chapter 89: Conclusion
>>Aelin
"Why are you standing in my way!?" Drakkar looked at Ariston in disbelief
"Because Aelin is my princess." He answered, "And for all the unfair things that have happened to her, I believe Prince Draegon’s decision is just."
Drakkar was taken aback, "We can find a better solution!" He said after a pause
"A small precious life was already taken," Ariston’s eyes turned cold, "Her child was murdered and you want to find another solution?"
"I-" He paused, "still, my mother wasn’t the murderer," He tried to move ahead but Ariston moved his sword towards his skin. The tip of it pinched Drakkar’s neck and he backed away a little.
"Your mother is an accomplice," Ariston stated
"What?"
"Because of the neglect she intentionally offered the princess, she went through a lot of abuse. None of that would have happened if she was treated like a proper ambassador that she is." Ariston’s voice was colder, "So how dare you say The Queen wasn’t involved. She is the main culprit behind it all. She didn’t even bother to investigate when she heard about the ’MISCARRIAGE’"
Ariston’s words somehow consoled me. His undying loyalty for me made me feel seen.
"S-still," Drakkar said, "A duel to the death is not the answer to this."
