Chapter 148
After remembering her death day, Michelle opened her eyes, finding herself still curled up on the ground at the campsite. Everyone was gone, with only Nyxaroth and Cold Flame remaining by her side. "How long was I asleep?" she asked before even moving an inch.
The moment the two heard Michelle’s voice, they were clearly surprised. "Something over two days..." Cold Flame finally said after a long while of silence.
Both he and Nyxaroth had expected Michelle to remain asleep for weeks, if not months, since she strained her soul energy to an extreme. But she suddenly woke up after a mere three days. That wasn’t just strange. It was shocking and unexplainable.
There was one more thing they couldn’t explain. While Michelle was asleep, Nyxaroth took on his mist form and seeped into her body to check on her once every two hours, but he didn’t see much improvement. Even after two and a half days, Michelle’s soul energy was nearly depleted, with the recovery being so slow that Nyxaroth reached the conclusion that a month would be way too short for Michelle to wake up.
"Two days..." Michelle was dumbfounded when she heard Cold Flame’s words. "Are you sure you didn’t mean to say two months?" she tilted her head in confusion.
"No!" Cold Flame shook his head. "You slept for two and a half days."
With a frown, Michelle stood up and stretched her body. It was stiff and sore from being curled up for so long, but Michelle didn’t mind it the least bit. "Where’s everyone else...?" she asked as she looked around.
To that, Nyxaroth answered: "As everyone thought you would sleep for a long time, they left. Originally, they wanted to go fighting more monsters and beasts, but then Snow sent a message that the monsters in this area are too strong and that they will be cultivating somewhere near the valley."
"I see..." Michelle nodded a bit. Then, she thought about the situation for a while before deciding: "Let’s go back to the tavern!" With that, she looked at Cold Flame and he took on his beast form, letting her get on his back.
