Chapter 274: Crumbling apart!
Leon hovered in the empty void, stuck in a non-existent timeline where the world itself had started peeling away.
The familiar warmth of the fading white flame coursing through him, a force as powerful as it was protective.
It was the same energy that had protected him back when Kronos, the celestial time mage, brutally wiped out every last soul on earth.
Now, that same energy was preventing him from being swept away by the waves of time reversal.
Usually, he would be able to control this energy, allowing himself to surrender to the flow of time and be carried back to the past.
But this time, conditions were different. The sheer amount of energy bursting out of him was far too much, beyond what he could control.
No matter how hard he tried to suppress it, his energy resisted, instinctively fighting against his skill. The result was that he remained trapped, stuck in the timeless which no longer existed.
Nonetheless, he could feel the flame enveloping him flickering, growing dimmer with each passing second.
It was only a matter of time before he too, would dissolve into those green particles, floating along with the waves of time back into the past.
’Besides, it seems like I’m not the only one resisting against it...’ Leon thought, his gaze drifting to Kronos.
Kronos was still floating weakly nearby, his eyes glowing with a dim green light.
