"You can rest assured about that, Professor Yan," The Principal immediately stood up and poured a cup of tea for Professor Yan.
The other teachers in the office greeted Professor Yan.
Only Bai Yue stood there on the side, her eyes glaring in the direction of Professor Yan, causing the Principal to frown again.
"Principal, please go ahead with your work; we’ll go back to prepare our lessons," said the other teachers, knowing that the Principal had matters to discuss, as they made excuses to leave one after another.
As Bai Yue was leaving, she repeated, "Principal, you must finish reading the research paper I wrote."
The Principal merely smiled but did not commit to doing so.
After Bai Yue left the Principal’s Office, she thought that the Principal would certainly change his opinion after reading it.
But her wait turned into a week. Initially full of anticipation, she became increasingly restless. She hardly went to the racing practice several times, spending all her time in the office, worried that the Principal wouldn’t find her when he finished reading.
On Saturday afternoon, classes ended two periods early, and a teacher from the math department called out to Bai Yue from the office door, "Teacher Bai, at three-thirty, Teacher Ye will be discussing teaching methods with us in the meeting room."
Hearing this, Bai Yue looked up incredulously, "Hasn’t the Principal canceled this meeting? No way, could it be that he hasn’t seen the paper I gave him?"
