My Journey to Immortality Begins with Hunting

Chapter 105 - The Blood Blade Patriarch - Part 2

Later that afternoon.

The autumn rain had subsided. Hoofbeats shattered the lingering hush as a group of riders in black robes trimmed with white galloped back into Silver Creek. These were the Blood Blade Sect’s inner disciples who had gone off to purchase eighth rank beast meat—or so they’d believed.

They had received word of a secret auction supposedly organized by the infamous underground market. Excited by the prospect, they’d traveled quite a distance, but on arrival found nothing—no auction, no organizers—just empty promises. They searched in vain before finally giving up. It took them until afternoon to return to Silver Creek.

The eerie stillness in town immediately set them on edge.

Fang Chengbao, one of the disciples, reined in his horse at the massive iron gate leading into the inner district. The gate was tightly barred from within, and the stench of blood wafted out from behind it.

His face darkened. He backed his horse away, scanning the perimeter with his blade raised. As the other inner disciples gathered around, Fang Chengbao said grimly, “A lot of people have died in there.”

Everyone tensed. Their scant knowledge could be pieced together easily enough.

There were two facts. One, that fake secret auction was set up to lure them away. Two, even though it was midday, the inner district gate remained sealed, the air drenched with blood.

All of them were eighth rank elites, some on the verge of breaking through to seventh rank. They were far from naive. The two quick clues formed a picture in their minds. This was a ploy to lure the tiger away from its mountain.

But they weren’t the tigers...were they?

Their confusion was soon resolved by another set of pounding hooves. Turning, they saw a blood-soaked figure in a white robe, accompanied by an older man equally stained with gore, plus two more survivors; one fat, one lean.

The man in the lead was none other than Tie Sha, his face etched with severity and his eyes burning with murderous rage. The four men behind him were his confidants, originally four seventh rank experts. Now, it seemed only two remained.
