Chapter 100 – The Outcome Is Decided - Part 2
“Elder, Enforcer Gongshu has been badly wounded. He says it’s urgent.”
“Gongshu Yang? Bring him in.”
“Yes!”
The door opened, and the servants helped the unsteady Gongshu Yang inside. As he crossed the threshold, he stumbled and collapsed forward.
Elder Liu swept in gracefully, catching him before he hit the floor. She opened her mouth to ask, “Who did this to y—?”
However, a sudden chill stabbed through her chest, followed by searing pain. A hidden blade had pierced her heart from Gongshu Yang’s sleeve and was now protruding from her back, its tip slick with blood.
Worried she might strike back before dying, Gongshu Yang flung her aside forcefully. Then, with a swift flick of his sleeve, he sent a short sword flying behind him. The blade whistled through the air and impaled the servant standing in the doorway, taking him through the throat.
In a flash, Gongshu Yang darted over, dragged the servant’s body inside, and quietly shut the door.
Elder Liu slammed against a wall and slid down, blood gushing from her chest and soaking her black robe’s white trim. Even as her life seeped away, realization dawned on her.
That whole story about the 16 missing disciples? It might have been nothing but a ruse—a tactic to lure the tiger from the mountain.
