Before stepping out, Qi Xinrou didn’t forget to leave a note on the table for Baili Chengye to let him know she’d be staying at home that night, then she grabbed her purse and headed straight out to hail a taxi.
That morning, while still attending classes at school, Baili Chengye realized he had left his phone behind, but he didn’t think much of it. Once class was dismissed, he thought about the thirty thousand yuan he had withdrawn some days ago; having spent some, he gave the remaining entirety of twenty thousand to Qi Xinrou the night before.
