Alice was dressed in a black suit, and although the weather was sunny, it was still a bit cold. She was somewhat glad she had worn stockings in advance, even though wearing black seemed a bit too trendy.
Walking in front of her was Aunt Yilien, her partner, who was also the person who recommended her to enter the organization under the Ministry of External Affairs of the Holy See. This mission was originally a transitional task for her to become an ordained clergy member, and she was merely basking in her aunt’s glory.
In the very front were two white-haired old men in black priest attire, each wearing a Silver Cross on their chest, meticulously groomed. These were the official mission personnel: Father Ansenia and Father Guideo Tama.
The group of four did not enter through the main entrance but from a small side door. Someone was already waiting for them behind the door.
A few priests in the same black robes came up to greet them.
"Welcome, brothers and sisters from afar. We are about to start the routine religious concert soon, and you can go take a look if interested," said one priest.
Alice noticed that behind these black-robed priests were young people similar to her, one male and two females. The male was handsome, but the females included one plump and one extremely thin. Perhaps it was the strong contrast that made the young man across from her keep looking over at Alice.
While the priests completed the exchange, Alice and the three young people also gained the freedom to move around.
Alice began to wander around the building complex.
"What do you think? This place is the headquarters of the Eastern Orthodox Cult. Although it might not be as splendid as the Vatican, its historical depth and atmosphere are also extraordinary," the handsome young man following Alice proclaimed, appointing himself as a guide.
"It’s a beautiful place," Alice replied casually.
