"Dudu, dudu..." The harsh alarm sound suddenly awoke the entire dorm room from its quietness.
Lin Fei opened his eyes; it was not yet fully bright outside. The room was dimly lit as well. Lying on his back in bed, he could see the white ceiling right before him. He threw off the covers and sat up.
The other people in the dorm started rustling about, yawning as they dressed. Shi Ran pressed the phone alarm and mumbled something unintelligibly as he turned over to continue sleeping.
"Shi Ran was up playing computer games until so late last night, no wonder he can’t get up," Du Xiaosheng muttered, his hand over his mouth.
Ouyang Dong, silent as ever, quickly dressed and went to the balcony to wash up. Since he had apologized to Lin Fei over a meal with his sister, he had been like this. It hadn’t been long since the semester started, but apart from attending classes and sleeping, he was barely seen and didn’t talk to the other dorm mates.
The other three got out of bed, Lin Fei put on his shirt, then shook his hair.
"Lin Fei, your hair grows so fast," Du Xiaosheng moved closer and said, "Better get it cut soon; the school doesn’t allow long hair."
"Cut what? Last time I saw a guy from the art department; his hair was almost as long as Cheng Nianwei’s," Shi Ran yawned, covering his mouth. "There’s no such rule at school."
"No? Then never mind. Hurry up, it’s almost seven," urged Du Xiaosheng. "We need to sign in for the morning reading class."
"What’s there to worry about? There’s still time," Shi Ran said slowly as he began to put on his pants.
By that time, Ouyang Dong had finished washing up too and, carrying his backpack, he opened the door and left. His footsteps gradually faded away.
