Chapter 234: Proposal
Her eyes took in all the familiar and unfamiliar faces, some looking at her with adoration, others looking at her with both adoration and love, some with envy and some with a little bit of hatred. Of course, hatred is expected when Anna is around but what on earth was up with Liam’s assistant and that look she gave her?
Jane chose to ignore it and turned to her man, giving him the biggest hug she could as she thanked him, afterwards turning towards her big family, thanking them each.
"Everyone, thank you so much for taking your time to attend my queen’s birthday, the only woman I am ready to die for. Welcome to the party! Officially that is.. " Liam’s little speech was followed by a loud applause mixed with laughter.
He led Jane to the stage, the birthday girl was ofcourse expected to give some speech.
Jane stood before all the people looking at her, a couple of stairs separating them.
"I honestly don’t know what to do right now, should I cry or laugh?" Her angelic voice immediately filled the whole Sports Club.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this man right here.. " She pointed at Liam as she continued speaking.
"This man right here made today a success, of course I expected it to be a success even though I had no idea he was planning something for me but..." Her speech went on as a couple of lies rolled smoothly out of her mouth but the good thing was that, everyone including Liam didn’t know she was lying.
Jane could have sworn as time went by, the uneasy feeling she had earlier was getting stronger but her line of thoughts was cut of as the lights suddenly went out, the whole place becoming pitch black.
