Chapter 228: Trials
As the couple completed their daily routine, they both hopped on bed ready to welcome the darkness and await yet another day, a day they both didn’t know was going to be the start of challenges in their peaceful relationship.
"Good morning sir." Liam was in his office working when he heard a coquettish voice greeting him, immediately irritating him but when he looked up, his face immediately wore a very big frown.
There she was, before him stood his assistant Marisa in a very short attire. Let’s not forget how tight her blouse was that he thought her boob’s would spill out any minute. He did not want to even continue assessing her knowing very well the only woman who can excite him even in a sack is Jane.
"Miss Long, state your business and leave." his voice was firm, void of any emotion and yes, super cold making Marisa frown. Was he blind or was he pretending not to see her assets? After a whole hour of unsecessful flirting, she decided to leave and come back later, of course the girl left bored and mad like who knew this man was so cold that she tried checking for any signs of him receiving a boner but Heh.. Nothing!
The moment she stepped out, Liam scrunched his nose in disgust before making sure that every single window was open to drive away the disgusting smell of her perfume but this also made the man wonder, what exactly changed? She has been a good and professional assistant for the past few weeks but suddenly..
The frown on his face didn’t even die, instead it grew further as he tried weighing things on how his assistant suddenly changed.
Either she was a conniving scheming woman who was just after his wealth and title even after knowing that he was engaged or the girl was under someone’s orders because afterall, the couple was not normal, they came from the top families afterall, enemies lurked everywhere.
He knew if his enemies wanted to get him then they could easily do it through his business but now, there was Jane, and his baby who only a few knew about.
