Chapter 53: Twin sister
Jane stared at them for a minute before looking at Rebecca and Nicole.. She let out a soft "I am sorry" and started reading what she had found about the Xi Family and how Emily’s name apperead.
The whole family had a pin drop silence but when Rebecca wanted to say something, Jane immediately shouted, "Twins! You have a twin Nicole!"
Again, all mouths dropped open and Rebecca couldn’t take the itch any longer, "Please Jane read everything you’ve found out, am hurting so very much." Her eyes were now bloodshot red and puffy.
"I found out about Emily when I was digging deep about the Xi Family and according to what I gathered, John Xi brutally murdered Emily but I can’t clearly see why. The report all shows that Emily was murdered two years after giving birth, not to one child but two babies, she was pregnant with twins and she delivered her children in an unauthorized hospital." Jane finished only to see Nicole and Rebecca collapsing at a go.
Ryan immediately got into action and together, the ladies took them to one of the guestrooms.
Once Ryan confirmed that they had collapsed due to shock and panic, the other members heaved a little sigh of relief.
Rose stood by the door and looked at her mother resting. How much had she struggled to survive? Falling in love and getting betrayed, having parents who don’t even care about their own daughter, how much had her mom suffered? Unknowingly, tears left her eyes when she felt someone rubbing her back. It was Jane.
"Relax Rose, we cannot be weak right now. We have to stay strong and help solve the mystery and find the missing pieces. Let us not break down now. They need us Rose."
She told her, making the girl nod her head weakly.
In the living room, everyone wore grave expressions as Grandpa Lu spoke.
"If Emily was murdered in the hands of the Xi Family, then that means Nicole’s life is not safe and her unknown twin might also not be safe."
