Chapter 31: Why didn’t you tell me?
Behind her Jane had the same smirk because she knew who Linda was exactly. She knows Nicole isn’t stupid enough to just pick any girl and bring her. Before Nicole decided on Linda, she did a thorough background check on her only to realize that there is bad blood between her and Anna Lu. Such a person will perform their duty better than expected.
Jane smiled and continued with her work when an hour later her door slammed open and in came a furious Nicole.
"JANE LU! Did you have to really hide it from me? Why didn’t you tell me?" She wore a very serious expression as she gave Jane a glare, her hands crossed on her chest.
By now Jane already understood she is talking about Peter Li, the man who wanted to molest her. Her assistant is as special as she is, she already found out about the issue.
She sighed, stood up and took Nicole’s hand, leading her to sit on the coach.
"Listen Nicole, you already have an existing trauma and if I told you what happened yesterday, exactly with That Li man writhing on the floor, right next to you, things could be different now." She explained to her, her voice extra sweet and calm.
Nicole couldn’t help but break down, "But what if he.... Jane no woman deserves to undergo what I once went through, it’s a terrible experience and... and... I fear losing you because you helped pick myself up when even my mother and siblings threw me out like trash... you... you..."
She had even started hiccuping recalling all the bitter memories she suffered but a stranger, now her boss came to her aid.
