Chapter 5: Ask for forgiveness
Edward arrived at the Chen residence only to be welcomed with a loud slap by his mother.
PAK!
The slap resounded in the quiet mansion making the servants’ gossiping tounges itchy.
"What is wrong with you son? You found such a beautiful woman to be your wife but you went for a low life! One who couldn’t even wait and seduced you back? I was very happy having Jane as my daughter in law but what did you do!?"
His mother, Mary Chen could not hold it in and lashed out on her 27 years old son. She Despite being in her late forties, years she looked like a woman in her 30’s and this just went on to show how she carefully maintained her skin and body. Just like any other lady in the upper class society.
Her beautiful face was now twisted in an unpleasant manner, as she did not bother hiding the dissatisfaction in her tone and expressions, all directed towards her son.
Edward did not bother evading the slap as he felt that he really deserved it, especially with the look of disappointment on his mother’s face.
He quietly knelt down before his parents, head bowed down in shame as his helpless voice resounded in the living room.
"Please forgive me mom and dad. I was impulsive and have hurt and disappointed you. I will do as you say."
