Chapter 16: The Next Day
Knock!
Knock!
Malone’s eyes snapped open at the loud sound.
The sound of knocking echoed from the door of his rented room.
The space he occupied in Cinnia’s inn was modest, but comfortable, a well-sized bed, a small washroom with a clean wooden tub, and thick, well-insulated floors that muffled any noise from the bustling tavern below.
Specifically speaking it was perfect for someone like Malone.
He was a man who cherished his peace and quiet, especially when sleeping. He had little tolerance for unnecessary noise. When his rest was disturbed, his mood followed suit, and go downhill fast.
Still, as much as he wanted to curse whoever had the nerve to wake him at this hour, he didn’t.
Because he remembered, he had asked for this personally.
Last night, before heading to bed, he went ahead and made a request of Cinnia to wake him early so he could register at the guild first thing in the morning.
Normally, he was the type to sleep in; given he knew he had no work the next day, and being summon to this world, his mind and body would treat it as prolong vacation.
