The Supreme Soldier in the City

Sitting in James Brown’s car, Melody Yoody glared at him and said, "You jerk, so many days have gone by, and you haven’t even called me once. What do you mean by that?"

James Brown hurriedly said, "I’ve been a bit busy these days, you know that. Lucy came, and I’ve been protecting her, plus I got injured."

"Hmph, excuses. Is your injury healed?"

"It’s fine now," James Brown replied with a smile.

"Then let’s go, find a place, and we can have a chat."

James Brown chuckled, "But you’re a big county head, wouldn’t it be bad for us to be seen openly going together like this? Nowadays, those hotels are prone to leak identities; it was reported online not long ago."

Melody Yoody rolled her eyes at James Brown and said, "Don’t you have a home? Let’s go there."

James Brown laughed heartily and said, "No problem."

Driving, James Brown took Melody Yoody directly to his old home. Melody Yoody looked at the clean windows and spotless floors, where everything was neatly arranged, and immediately asked suspiciously, "Do you still come back here often?"

James Brown didn’t deny it, "Emma often stays here. Hmm, Emma should be here now."

Melody Yoody knew of Emma Campbell, and upon hearing this, she frowned slightly. She really wanted to see what Emma Campbell looked like; after all, James Brown had said he would never give her up.

"Emma, come out," James Brown went over and knocked on the tightly closed bedroom door.
