Chapter 528 - 538: 2 Hosts
After seeing Melody Yoody off, Alice Brown started the car again. She didn’t ask John Brown where he was headed, just drove slowly, barely reaching twenty miles per hour, while frequently checking the rearview mirror to look at James Brown sitting in the back.
Today, Jennifer Hog had a few drinks, and now, emboldened by the alcohol, she unfastened her seatbelt and moved from the front seat to the back, sitting next to James Brown. She bit her lip, looked at him enticingly, and said, "Mr. Smith, I... I..." before falling into his arms.
James Brown rubbed his nose, fully aware of what Jennifer Hog wanted, just as he understood the feelings both women had for him. He didn’t believe their advances were simply desperate actions or attempts to be with him for a particular purpose.
Rejecting them outright would be quite hurtful, so James Brown gently stroked Jennifer Hog’s hair and softly said, "Laura, Alice, I appreciate your feelings, but I must be honest with you, I’m already married."
Jennifer Hog held onto James Brown tightly, trembling slightly. James didn’t push her away this time, making her quite excited. She quickly said, "I know, both Alice and I understand we can’t be Mr. Smith’s wife, and we truly have no demands. We merely hope to have a chance to be with you, even if only occasionally when you’re lonely and can come see us, we’ll be satisfied."
James Brown smiled gently and said, "Thank you both for being so good to me, but I genuinely can’t do this anymore. My wife treats me very well; I can’t let her down again. You’ve seen it too; there’s Melody, and others beside her. I’m already too indebted to my wife."
Jennifer Hog hastily added, "Since you have others, it won’t hurt to have us too. Mr. Smith, we really like you so much. These days, Alice and I think about you every day, hoping you’ll remember us. We want to find you, but we’re afraid of disturbing you, not even daring to call. Please, just pity us and say yes, even just once."
What Jennifer Hog said was so tender and pitiful that it tugged at James Brown’s heartstrings. A beautiful woman speaking in such a manner, almost pleading, is hard for any man to refuse.
However, James Brown genuinely didn’t want to incur more emotional debts now. Previously, he’d be with a woman and never see her again the next day, thus no emotional burden. But lately, the women he’s involved with are not ones he can treat as before, and subconsciously, he feels urged to take on some responsibility. Hence, agreeing to them now would mean bearing responsibility for them later.
With a soft sigh, James Brown said, "Alice, Laura, to be honest, you both indeed attract me, but I must adhere to my principles. If we’re to be involved, I would regard you as my women, and I can’t accept you being with other men..."
Alice Brown slammed on the brakes, turning around anxiously, "No! Absolutely not! We would never be with other men. We’ll be your women forever, Mr. Smith, no matter which man, we’ll never let them touch us."
