John Brown felt deeply troubled by Sarah Grandy’s words. He raised his hand to gently caress Sarah’s cheek and said softly, "Charlotte, don’t worry. Uncle will never leave you no matter what."
"I believe you." Sarah smiled, taking John’s hand and placing it on her chest. She whispered, "Uncle, I’m sleepy. Just rest your hand here. I like it this way. Once I’ve fallen asleep, you can go and be with Sister Emma."
Emma Campbell blushed but was more concerned about Sarah. However, watching her alongside John for a moment, they saw that Sarah actually fell asleep. "Charlotte really is such a pitiable child. Who knows when she’ll be able to walk out of this grief," Emma sighed softly.
John gently stroked Emma’s cheek and said, "It will probably take a long time, sigh..." Having gone through this himself, as a man, he knew what it felt like to lose both parents suddenly. It had taken him quite some time to pull himself together. But Sarah is just a young girl, with a naturally more delicate heart. To truly move past the anguish of losing her loved ones, she would need a lot of care and support. At this sensitive time, she craved people’s concern but was also afraid of excessive pity. A single careless word could sting her sensitive heart. Taking care of her right now was undoubtedly the hardest.
Emma leaned against John’s chest tenderly and said, "As long as we take good care of her, I think Charlotte will recover quickly. A man who loves her would be the best healing medicine."
In the morning, Emma went back to school, and Little Grace showed up early. After their college entrance exams, these kids felt like birds freed from their cages. They were desperate to go out and have fun every day.
But just as Little Grace arrived, Sarah’s phone rang. It was her uncle, Tom Johnson, calling to ask her to visit her father’s company. Sarah didn’t want to go initially, but John signaled her to agree.
After hanging up, Sarah pouted and said, "I don’t want to go. Uncle and the others used to be really nice to me, but now, because of the inheritance, they’re so selfish. I feel so uncomfortable about it."
John spoke earnestly to Sarah, "Charlotte, this is human nature. After all, everyone has to look out for their interests. What they’re doing isn’t overly excessive, so it is somewhat understandable. As long as they don’t continuously try to seize your father’s company assets, that’s all that matters."
Sarah shook her head. "But I don’t think they’ll stop."
John gave a slight smile and said, "This matter is actually easy to solve. If you want to keep the company and don’t mind falling out with relatives, we can hire two professional accountants and a professional manager to keep the company running. You wouldn’t need to worry too much. If you’d rather avoid harming family ties, you might as well simply hand the company over to them. Uncle can still take care of you without any problem."
